Abstract
The Taipei City Zoo is located in the Wenshan District of Taipei Taiwan. It occupies an area of 165 hectares, and is home to nearly 3,000 animals. The broad land area and ecological animal exhibits make this the largest zoo in Taiwan. The park's annual water use is between 1.2 and 1.5 million tons,
We used 「Rainwater Bank」、「Submerged Rainwater Bank」＆「Water Tour」to promotion rainwater utilization in Taipei city zoo.
The rainwater bank and submerged rainwater bank is a simple, concise version of a rainwater catchment systems. We use roof space from fifteen recreational pavilions within the park to undertake rainwater flow direction, under the Water Conservation Corps' "rainwater bank". The rainwater is saved and used to water flowers and trees. We use a simple structure and explanation to demonstrate the collection and use cycle for rainwater, hoping that visitors will feel curious and use it, and thus understand the convenience of using rainwater, and promote the concept of effective use of water resources.
