These days, corporal punishment by parents has been being controversial. In the modern world, some countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, China, Japan and so on approve corporal punishment by law, while some European countries consider it is illegal for parents to physically punish their children. In other words, since each country pays attention to either benefits or disadvantages of corporal punishment, they support their law which allows their people punish their children or not. In this way, it is said that corporal punishment has both advantages and defects. Therefore, this essay will discuss advantages and defects, and ponder whether corporal punishment by parents should be banned or not.
